Thanksgiving Day is a harvest festival. Traditionally, it is a time to give thanks for the harvest and express gratitude in general. It was connected with religions (宗教)at first. But Thanksgiving is now regarded as an important holiday in the United States.
Today, Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Thanksgiving dinner is held for family members and friends to get together. And usually Americans eat turkeys on the holiday.
As we know, now Thanksgiving Day is not only celebrated in the western countries, it’s becoming more and more popular, as in Asia, people take this day as an opportunity to express their gratitude to their families, friends or anyone they think worth a “thank you”, especially among young generation.
