Everyone wants to find a job based on their interest. Have you ever picked a job like that but later found it made you feel very uncomfortable over time? When you select your career, besides your skills, you have to put your personality in the list. If you ignore your personality, it will hurt you long-term regardless of your skills or the job’s pay. Here are five main areas of personality:

(1) Do you prefer working alone or with other people?

There are isolating (使孤立) jobs that will drive an outgoing person crazy and also interactive (互动的) jobs that will make a shy person uncomfortable. Most people do have a tendency that they prefer. Personally, a job combination of the two may be best for us.

(2) How do you handle change?

If you need stability (稳定) in your life, you may need a job where changes don’t happen so often. On the other hand, some other people may be bored of doing the same job every day.

This can range from being in a large building with a lot of people you won’t know immediately to a smaller office where you’ll get to know almost all the people there quickly.

Some people are motivated by the pay they get, while others feel too stressed to be like that. The variety of payment designs in the sales industry is a typical example for this.

Anyway, knowing you areas of personality makes much sense. I've seen it over and over again that people make more money over time when they do something they love. It may take you a little longer, but trying to do what you have are fond of can change your life for the better.
